This is an excellent starting point for a canoe trip. The boat launch area makes it easy to get the canoe and all the equipment ready. Bring your lunch, there are many places where you can relax in the shade and enjoy the scenery.
|There is an old Railway Bridge southeast of here. You will need a canoe to get there.|
The coordinates are

We visited the place with our canoe in 1992 and the bridge was still standing above water.
Every time we went back, a few more sections collapsed.
THE BRIDGE IN SUMMER 1992
THE SAME BRIDGE IN 2013
One section is open and allows access to the back of the bridge.
The bridge is almost invisible in the snow.
